Most of the steam mops only do steam mopping but if you can come across a model which also could remove dry dust then you will be spared that exhausting round of sweeping before mopping.

An equipment which lets you control the intensity of the steam must always be preferred because a more adamant stain would need greater flow of steam where as a less sticky dirty could be removed by a lesser intensity.
